what is on your fridge????

i usually sit and do my blogging at the kitchen island, on a squeaky stool, with my diet coke on ice and a snack .... today, as i sat down to begin e-mailing, blogging, editing pictures, reading People.com, etc.... i glanced up and saw my refridgerator:
in all of her "fridgey" glory!!!!
and i pondered..
hmmmmmmmmm....
"what is on other people's refridgerator's?"
do they have as many pictures?
magnets?
children's drawings?
children's magnets?
lists?
reminders?
or...
NOTHING. AT. ALL. ???
{gasp!}
so, i got up from my squeaky stool and studied my fridge... up close and personal... and found some of my favorite things!
and now... i am going to share them with you... you can pretend you are in my kitchen (in a non-creepster way), drinking diet coke and eating snacks too (if you'd like)...
this is me holding my sweet, infant baby girl, on Christmas Eve!
she had had her 2 month shots, and was tired and sore... i. love. this. picture.
beneath that is a picture of my husband as a baby (3 months old) handsome as ever!
and you'll see my favorite magnet (difficult to read. sorry. phone pictures.)
it says "I've decided to be joyful.... and I hope you'll do the same."
amen.
this is an old photograph of my grandmother holding my mother in a store.
they are looking at magazines.
BOTH are miraculous women!
as is the task at hand
:)
a good magazine is a MUST!
next up... the picture of David and Goliath, of course!
no refridgerator is complete without one
:)
i teach sunday school.
enough said!
{p.s. AND i just flat out adore children's artwork!!!}
this is me in all of my kitty loving glory!!!!
our dear friends lived on a farm with cats and kittens GALORE!
it was heaven for me, and leaving was not pretty.
hello tears (drama queen!)
Ohhhh how we would have FUN!
:)
{those poor, poor felines!!! wonder if they have recovered!?}last up, one of my all time favorite pictures!
me, riding Chestnut, a friends horse, into a corn field!!!
i can close my eyes and feel what it's like to be on a horse, galloping away, i can smell the fresh air and i can feel the strength of the horse i am riding...
it is
absolutely
Blissful!
... and there you have it friends
:)
that is just a little snippet of what is on my refridgerator!
thanks for stopping by!
xoxo.

who ya gonna call ???

Last Spring,
my grandpa passed away... he had a long stuggle with Parkinson's ... and he went home to Jesus on Easter morning!!!
During this difficult time, my father needed someone by his side, so I dropped everything, and went to be with him through his heartbreak.
While we were attending his wake and funeral, I held my father's hand... reminded him to breathe... visited with him about all of the beautiful memories,
and shared my grandpa's favorite Bible verse at his funeral.
During this time... my sister and her husband had to travel back and forth to come and support my dad as well.... one afternoon my sister asked her husband...
"What word could you use to describe Maggie?"
and of all of the things possible (wink, wink)
he said:
"The Red Cross.... She is always ready to swoop in, lend a hand and take care of people!"
When I heard this, my heart skipped a beat!
It is exactly how I feel when someone is in need... there has to be something {anything!} I can do!
From then on I was refered to as "The Red Cross" in times of crisis!
Fast forward to July...
It is ONE THOUSAND degrees in the grand state of Minnesota,
and my sister gives birth (in an airconditioned hospital!) to a BEEEEEAUTIFUL baby boy...
her 3rd... and the only one with dark brown hair thus far!
My mom, bestie, and myself all take a day to go and visit her in the hospital, ooooo and ahhhh over sweet baby and of course, go and do some "junking" at the antique stores in town whilst mommy and baby rest...
Lo and BEEEEHOLD... Look at what we found:
I kid you not when I tell you that all 3 of us screamed, shrieked and jumped up and down over finding a vintage red cross head scarf!!!!!
Immediately my mother tied it on.
Declared that it was "meant to be" cause "Maggie, you ARE the Red Cross!!"
The $8.00 was paid (such a deal of the day!)
and we hoofed it back to the hospital to show the new mommy our SWEET purchase!
Minutes later, we sneak into my sister's room, and I go into the bathroom to tie on my scarf, I yell "How are you doing??? Do you need anything?"
And I SWEAR to you (cross my heart) she responded...
"YES! I need the Red Cross!!! I can't reach my lunch tray!!!"
Well, what. do. you. know...
There. I. Was.
A rootbeer (per her request) in hand... and ready to "Swoop In!"
we laughed.
i almost peed.
my sister's C-Section wound almost burst.
and then we took some more pictures
:)

My FAVORITE!!!

:)

Though the loss of my grandpa was a very sad time, the fact that I was able to be there for my dad, and extended family, is what makes the biggest impact on me.

I hope and pray that all of my dearest family and friends know that they can count on me for support! I will be there .... SWOOPING in!

:)

Lots of Love Love Love!

detangler spray. and groundhog.

hello.
good morning!
happy groundhog's day to all!
:)
so, here's what's shakin'.....
josie's hair is getting really long, and beyond snarly, tangled, nastaaaay by the time she gets out of the tub....
i purchased some detangler spray at Target... and it works like charm! and smells like green apples.... nothing like the detangler spray i was rocking as a young lass!
the thing is, when i was little, my hair was LONG (as in, down to my tush long) THICK, and a hot mess by the end of the day.... so detangler spray was my best friend. and i mean
BEST FRIEND!
i remember taking the bottle of spray, and my handy dandy comb to daycare!!!
that was a long time ago friends.
i am going to be 30 (gulp) in april.
girlfriend has a memory like a whippersnapper
:)
anyways, so i would come to daycare armed with my supplies, put them in my "cubby" and several times throughout the day i would go and take a big sniff of it (it smelled magical), spray a spritz on my hair, comb thru with no problems whatsoever, and go do my thang!!!
---> i. am. a. freak. <---
the fact that i remember this is crazy, but the fact that i sniffed detangler spray is cracking me up!
now, the big question is:
will the groundhog see his shadow?????
and will someone tell me who came up with the name
Punxsutawney Phil ???
xxoo.
p.s. speaking of hair... how swoony is this?
Pinned Image
just say'n.
:)
love love love to YOU,
maggie

my heart skipped a beat.

Love,
Your Mama.
